Configure a static DHCP lease for your network device:

  1. Identify the MAC address of the device you want to set up port forwards to. This may be listed on a sticker on the back of your device. Otherwise, you can simply search Google for the process of identifying the MAC address for your device.
  2. Log into your MoFi's management page at 192.168.10.1 (The default password is 'admin')
  3. Expand the Network menu in the left-hand navigation pane and select "DHCP"
  4. Near the bottom of the settings page, in the "static leases" pane, click the "Add" button. In the hostname field, 
  5. Enter the name of the device you want to configure forwarding for(ie Roomba, Living Room Camera, etc)
  6. Choose the MAC address you identified in step 1 from the drop-down menu for MAC address.
  7. Choose an available IP address in the IPv4 Address column.
  8. Restart the network device you are configuring port forwarding for and check to make sure that it is now using the address you defined.


Configure Port Forwarding Rules on the MoFi:

  1. On a computer connected to the hotspot, open a browser to 192.168.10.1 and login. (The default password is 'admin')
  2. Click on Advanced in the upper right-hand corner. 
  3. Click on Firewall in the left-hand menu and click "Port Forwards.
    For each port you open, enter
    Name - can be anything, like "Roomba Rule 1",
    Protocol - Select TCP or UDP from the dropdown list depending on what the port list shows for the port,
    External Zone - wan
    External Port - the port to forward (usually provided by the manufacturer of the device you are configuring)
    NOTE: you may need to contact technical support for the actual device you are trying to connect to obtain this information.
    Internal Zone - lan,
    Internal IP Address - the static IP address you configured in the steps above
    Internal Port - Same as External port
  4. Click the "Add" button to create a new row
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for any additional ports provided by the manufacturer.
  6. When finished, double check that you correctly entered all of them and click on "Save and Apply" at the bottom of the browser window.
  7. Reboot the network device you are trying to connect and check to see if the service is now available.
